How to delete a file permanently from your computer and wipe the free space

When you delete something from your computer. its not really deleted. it gone in a place called free space. and even if you format your computer. the file still exist in your computer and you can recover this file with a recovery tool. unless you clean correctly this free space and file become overwritten.

There are several tools can clean that free space or overwrite the deleted files and folders. in this tutorial i will explain how to wipe the free space and shred files and folders with 2 tools :

1- CCleaner

With CCleaner you can wipe the free space easily. just open Ccleaner →Tools → Drive Wiper and set the settings like this :

and click wipe. wait until the operation finish .

2-File Shredder

File Shredder is a simple but very powerful tool have the ability to shred files and folders with just some clicks of mouse :

Also you can change the secure algorithm ( secure erasing algorithm with 7 passes is the best option).

and you can wipe the free space by clicking  on shred free disk space and choose the partition or the disk you want to wipe, change the secure algorithm to secure erasing algorithm with 7 passes, click next then click start and wait until the process finish.
