Facebook partners with ESET security lab

Facebook added ESET antivirus to its services, this new service will help the comany to detect  more malicious content that spread within the publications on the soscial network.or through the exchange of messages between users.

Eset will added to another security services ( F-secure and Trend Micro ), which were held  a partnership with facebook in MAY.

The social network company seems to be betting that if more numbers of antivirus engines exist in it system, user will be more secure and safe.

Chetan Gowda ( a software engineer on site integrity team) said that with more providers, the chances of detecting malwares and trojans and destroy them will be increased. which will help facebook users to keep their informations more secure.

Gowda  confirmed that facebook have the ability to detect on its servers if the users computers are infected, and warn them that they must scan their computers against the infected files. where F-Secure and Trend Micro built new developed free copies of their products can integrated with facebook.

In the past, Facenook was a target for malwares, due the popularity and the large number of its members, in 2008 facebook detect a worm called koobface, that worm originally targeted facebook and their users.
